About Ruby

Ruby was born and raised on Cape Cod and grew up spending time in her father, Clay Calderwood's ceramic studio, surrounded by his creativity. Because of this upbringing she has always had a love for ceramics.  However, it wasn't until she was living in Boston that she felt the pull back to her Cape Cod roots and moved home to help her father create his signature pieces. Soon after, Ruby began creating her own work and participating in local craft shows, where her driftwood fish and oyster plates started to grow in popularity. In 2018 Ruby had the opportunity to take over her father's studio and start fresh, changing the studio's name from "Clay Works" to "Wildflower Pottery" and revitalizing the studio with a new vibe.  While she still features work from her father in the shop and has taken on creating his signature Clay fish platters and wall hangings, she has filled the shop with her own unique style of work.  Ruby loves vibrant ocean-inspired colors and textures as well as clean design.  Over the last couple of years she has refined her style and has been exploring new designs and ideas.  In her shop you will find a great mix of dinnerware and home accents as well as perfect gifts!

When Ruby is not creating in her studio she loves to garden and grow beautiful flowers as well as take her amazing pups, Layla and Sadie, for walks in the woods!
